What should I know about 5-MeO-DMT?
5-MeO-DMT is a tryptamine molecule that is found in various plants, the (Bufo Alvarius) Sonoran Desert Toad's venom, and it’s also naturally produced within the human body. Your M-Pen's 5-MeO-DMT is lab-made, and doesn’t come from any toads. 5-MeO-DMT is a quick-acting, short-duration psychedelic that interacts with your brain’s serotonin receptors and aids mindfulness. This substance is not illegal to have or self-administer in Canada but is not approved by the Canada Food and Drug Agency for human consumption. It has also been found to be unsafe under certain circumstances, and we highly recommend that all prospective users carefully read our safety considerations. (link to Safety page)Typically 5-MeO-DMT is used in high doses, which we refer to as macrodoses to differentiate between our microdoses, which are about 10% of the macrodose. The macrodose or “full release” ceremonies are extremely intense, ego-dissolution, out-of-body experiences that only last 15-30 minutes, but have long-term transformational effects. How has it been tested for purity?
Yes. The 5-MeO-DMT in the M-Pen has undergone a chemical analysis to ensure that it contains no particles of Fentanyl or any other harmful substances. We have also done a costly Mass Spectroscopy analysis to further assure safety. The current batch of pens being produced has been verified as 99.9% pure 5-MeO-DMT. Additionally the pens contain a 99.7% to 99.9% pure blend of Vegetable Glycerin and Propylene Glycol, which are the chemical compounds present in nearly all vapes.
What do you mean by microdosing?
The term microdose means a very small amount, yet within the psychedelic community there are some nuances to how the term is used. We favour the definition of famed mycologist Paul Stamets, which is that a microdose is a dose that is sub-intoxicating rather than sub-perceptual. According to Stamets, a psychedelic could even have a mild hallucinatory effect and – so long as the user is not intoxicated – still be considered a microdose. We like this definition because you will feel the meditative effects of the M-Pen, but you will not be intoxicated. The M-Pen is designed to deliver a consistent microdose of 5-MeO-DMT, providing you with a unique opportunity to experience the potential benefits of this powerful substance while eliminating the uncontrolled intensity of a high “flood” dose of 5-MeO-DMT.
Is there a warranty on the pen?
Yes. There is a limited warranty which covers the M-Pen battery, cartridge, and charger for 30 days from the date of original purchase. The warranty ensures that the product is free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use. If a defect arises within the warranty period, we will repair, replace, or refund the defective pen at our discretion. Exclusions include damage from improper use, accidents, unauthorized repairs, wear and tear, or cosmetic damage, and any dissatisfaction related to the experience. Is this legal?
5-MeO-DMT is not a scheduled drug in Canada. As a result, it is not a crime to possess or serve it to yourself. The M-Pen is intended for personal use only. You should not serve it to someone other than yourself.
In the United States 5-MeO-DMT is a scheduled substance and its possession, use, and distribution are illegal. Bringing your pen into the United States or other countries where 5-MeO-DMT is illegal is strongly discouraged and could lead to serious legal consequences.
While possession and personal use of 5-MeO-DMT are legal in Canada, we ask that you maintain discretion regarding any information about the individuals who have provided the pen to you. Although possessing 5-MeO-DMT is not a crime, those involved in its sale, or in directly administering it to someone other than themselves could possibly be prosecuted because it is illegal to sell or serve foods and substances that are not approved by the Canada Food and Drug Administration.
What should I do the first time I use it?
If you are on any medications, or have any history of mental health challenges, please read our safety considerations (link to Safety page) before trying the M-Pen.To ensure a good first experience with the M-Pen, please give yourself at least an hour and follow these steps to determine your optimal microdose.
Begin with a pretend run without the pen to set a baseline experience:
Sit up on a bed, couch or mat, where you can lay down after
Exhale completely and deeply
Inhale slowly and consistently through pursed lips (without the pen)
Hold for as long as it is comfortable (don’t strain)
Close your eyes, and lay down if you prefer (most do)
Meditate: Observe your breathing. Do an internal body scan. Observe the nature of the darkness you see with your eyes closed. Be aware of your thoughts.
When you are ready, repeat but inhale from the pen for one second. If you feel nothing, wait a few minutes and then inhale from the pen for 2 seconds, then close your eyes and assess any changes in your experience.
Continue this titration process by gradually increasing (and counting) the duration of your inhalation, waiting a few minutes between each draw, until you reach a dose that produces noticeable effects without causing intoxication. You should be able to touch your nose with your eyes closed, and if you were to open your eyes you should still be able to maintain balance and stand on one foot.
Once you've found your optimal microdose, make a mental note of the number of seconds it took to reach this level. You can keep drawing with this duration of seconds, or experiment up to the “full pull” which is 7-10 seconds, and will end when the light flashes on the pen.
You can expect each experience to have a three-minute ascent which may be an intense physical and emotional experience that is difficult to describe. This may then be followed by a seven to fifteen-minute calming descent as the medicine metabolizes and leaves your system. This is when users report having insights and breakthroughs. We encourage you to read our user stories (insert link and remove this) before trying the M-Pen, so you have a sense of what to expect.
We do not recommend that you meditate with the M-Pen more than a few times per week. Most users create a ritual and set aside at least an hour for the meditation, and many find it helpful to have a voice transcriber like Otter.AI to log notes and insights from your meditation. How do I use the pen?
The pen is activated automatically when you inhale, rather than pressing a button to activate it. At the same time, the pen’s tip glows, providing feedback that the pen is vaporizing the 5-MeO-DMT. The pen will shut off after 10 continuous seconds of use. This prevents overconsumption and ensures a consistent microdose. Please note that the pen will not work reliably if used upside down. You should sit up and point the pen down while you inhale, and then you can lie down if you like. Assuming you are planning a full pull inhale, fill your lungs to approximately 80% capacity over a period of 7-10 seconds until the light on the pen flashes. Then hold your breath for a comfortable duration, ideally between 5-10 seconds (longer if desired). Finally, exhale slowly and completely.
What am I likely to experience?
We highly recommend that you read our user stories (insert link) to get an understanding of what you are likely to experience with an M-Pen meditation.
In the ascent, which lasts 1-3 minutes, you may experience a feeling of falling away, which can be unsettling, and your ego mind may react with anxiety or even some physical nausea.
Once you settle, here is what you might experience, in order from most to least likely:
Feeling a physical heaviness, or less sensation in your body, or experiencing numbness in your hands or mouth
Feeling a sense of relaxation, slowness, calm, or relief, and being present in the moment
Seeing geometric shapes, light, or fractal patterns
Heightened awareness of your body, such as hearing your heartbeat loudly or quickly
Feeling absorbed in whatever is catching your attention, such as sounds or sights
Receiving insights, ideas, or new perspectives on situations
Being able to very quickly and easily imagine or recall memories
Having memories, trauma or unprocessed emotions suddenly arise
Autonomous expression or movement, such as head rolling, crying eyes, or a smiling mouth
Feeling the desire to move your body for movement's sake
Please note: Although 5-MeO-DMT reactivations typically happen after receiving a large macrodose and come on during sleep, it's possible to experience a reactivation from a microdose. One pen user reported awakening and seeing everything looking fractal the night she took several microdoses of the pen. What happens if I get really anxious or nauseous?
The effects of 5-MeO-DMT are most intense for a couple of minutes before gradually easing off. Even for those who experience anxiety during the onset, it is common for them to then feel calm during the rest of the meditation.If the anxiety or nausea is too much for you, it is valuable to have a routine in place to ground yourself if needed.
As 5-MeO-DMT can become more potent with stillness, one way to reduce the intensity of the trip is to stimulate yourself by opening your eyes, moving, or speaking out loud. It's also recommended to have someone present who can assist you in calming down and using techniques like the 5-4-3-2-1 method.

What’s the ideal set and setting?
TThe intensity of the 5-MeO experience is related to how calm the user is, and this is related to the mindset and setting of the experience. If you take a microdose in the middle of a busy room, when your mind is quite busy, all the busyness may suppress the medicine. The same person, doing the same microdose, but with a calm mindset in a calm setting is likely to have a much more rewarding experience. The following mindset and setting factors should be considered when setting up for a session:

When planning a microdosing session, it is worth investing in creating a setting that ensures a positive and secure experience. Here are some key factors to consider when choosing the ideal location:

How do I store and recharge my M-Pen?
Proper storage of your pen is important to maintain its quality and prolong its lifespan. Here are some guidelines to follow:
Store your vape pen away from direct sunlight.
Do not store your vape pen in any place where temperatures can fluctuate rapidly.
Always keep your vape pen away from children or anyone who might confuse it for a cannabis vape pen.
It is unlikely that you will need to recharge your pen with your first cartridge. To recharge your pen:
Detach the cartridge from the battery: Gently unscrew the glass cartridge from the body/battery, exposing the threaded connector. Ensure not to unscrew the small mouthpiece, as this can cause the 5-MeO-DMT to leak.
Connect the USB charger: Attach the accompanying USB charger to the threaded connector where the cartridge was previously connected.
Charge using a laptop: Insert the USB charger into a laptop's USB port. To protect the battery, only charge it through a laptop, as most standard USB chargers may be too powerful and risk damaging the battery.
The battery is fully charged once the light at the tip of the battery turns off.
